Family Action
Family Action works to tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues facing families today – including financial hardship, mental health problems, social isolation, learning disabilities, domestic abuse, or substance misuse and alcohol problems.
Family Action’s Children & Families Services work with children, young people, parents, carers and the wider family network to ensure the family is able to realise its full potential.
Working holistically across the extended family is fundamental to Family Action’s approach and we strive to support stable, positive family networks in which all family members are able to thrive.
Our work supports families when they face complex needs and challenges -including domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health issues – and it ranges from intensive family support, specialist therapeutic work, conflict management and relationship support, and advice and wellbeing services.
Our work within the Troubled Families Programme evidences significant impact on the families we work with. The tools we use to measure the outcomes of our interventions highlight the impact of our work for individual families through to the whole organisation.
We also work with schools and the wider education sector with innovative services that support teachers, pupils and their families to reap the full benefit of education.
Our relationship support services have been awarded the Help and Support for Separated Families mark. The HSSF Mark is awarded to individuals and organisations that demonstrate their services support parents to work together to resolve disputes (where it’s appropriate and safe to do so) and help them focus on the interests of their children.
